Tragedy for Hamilton Resident

A man died early Saturday morning after climbing an electrical tower near Dundas, Hamilton police say.

Hamilton Paramedics Supt. Dave Thompson said emergency responders were called the area of Romar Drive, just off of Sydenham Road, around 1:30 a.m. Saturday for reports that a man had climbed a hydro tower and had been electrocuted.

A 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Hamilton police confirmed the death on Sunday.

Staff Sgt. John Pauls told The Spectator that the man and a “couple of friends” were out around Romar Drive when the victim “decided” to climb a nearby tower.
